Join In! West Indian American Day Parade/Carnival

Monday, September 1st, 2014, Medgar Evers College will once again be participating in the West Indian American Day Parade/Carnival.  Medgar Evers College is deeply proud of its students, alumni, faculty and staff who are of West Indian American descent and would like to extend an invitation to the members of the various clubs to participate in this wonderful celebration.

The Carnival showcases the unique, vibrant and energetic culture and heritage of the Caribbean here in New York City.  The lineup will include celebrities, political leaders and over 80 floats and thousands of colorful masqueraders depicting spectacular and breathtaking creations.

Come join visitors from all across the USA, Canada, and the Caribbean as we celebrate the history and culture of the Caribbean and its people.

We are inviting you to join the Medgar Evers College float as we wave our flags down Eastern Parkway in Brooklyn this Labor Day!

Medgar Evers College along with the Caribbean and Student Government Association is hosting its Annual Labor Day Parkway kick-off on our very own MEC float. This is a great start to the academic year for our students and the community.

To accomplish this goal, we are expecting your full support and cooperation as student leaders/clubs; this will help MEC to:

  • Increase community awareness
  • Display school pride
  • Increase enrollment
  • To recruit new members and showcase your club/organization to new and returning Medgar Evers College Students.

ALL REGISTERED CLUBS are expected to participate.  Also, please have your club banner or other forms of organization identification.  For more information, call (718) 270-6255.

Sincerely,
