NEW YORK, NY- October 15, 2014 –The Lawrence N. Field Center for Entrepreneurship at Baruch College welcomes leading Colombian fashion designer Ana Urrea, partner of fashion catalog company LeBon, for a presentation on the success of her multi-generational family business, The Privax Group. The discussion, held from 12:30 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. October 16, will be moderated by Gonzalo Gomez Bentancourt, Director of the Family Business Program at INALDE Business School, Universidad de la Sabana, Colombia.
Urrea, a graduate of The American College of London and the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York, will speak about her family’s challenges, successes and Latin American influences in the ever changing fashion industry.
Betancourt, who is also a member of the International Family Enterprise Research Academy (IFERA) Board, will share experiences working with family firms in Colombia and Latin America.
The Privax Group, a conglomerate of predominately fashion-related leading companies in Colombia and throughout Latin America, involves the second and third generations of the Urrea Jimenéz family, with the consolidation and diversification of four companies: LeBon, a fashion catalog company; Elipse, a recently acquired lingerie company; Margarition, a financial company providing factoring to Privax Group businesses;and Corocora, an agribusiness company that produces palm oil. The Privax Group also includes a mix of commercial real estate properties in Colombia and U.S.; and a financial portfolio of investments in the U.S. divided in equities and fixed-income.
