So You’re MWBE/V Certified, Now What?
City Tech’s Small Business Development Center is offering a series of free “Surety Bonding” classes February 25, March 4, 11, 18, 25 and April 1, from 4 pm to 8 pm at 25 Chapel Street, room 111, Downtown Brooklyn. In collaboration with the New York State Surety Bond Assistance Program, City Tech’s Small Business Development Center provides MWBE/V and small business contractors with training, technical assistance, and credit support to secure surety bonds necessary for state contracts.
This series is designed to bridge the gap that exists between small businesses that have become certified as a Minority, Women’s and Veterans Business Enterprise (MWBE/V) and those certified businesses that are actually securing meaningful contracts. The design of this series includes interactive learning as well as metric driven on-going coaching. In addition, businesses that have never been bonded or require increased bonding capacity will benefit from this statewide program.
Program topics include: bonding/insurance, job estimating, capital access, loan support, contract bidding, credit strategies, project management, and claims/dispute resolution.
