Tuesday, July 21, 2015 from 4:30 to 8:30 PM, the Medgar Evers College Student Government Association and the Muslim Student Association present Eid Ul Fitr Celebration in the Welcome Center at 1650 Bedford Avenue. The holiday of Eid Ul Fitr marks the end of Ramadan and the beginning of the next lunar month, Shawwal. Highlighting this event will be greetings from Imam Siraj Wahhaj, Imam of Masjid Taqwa in Brooklyn, New York. Imam Siraj Wahhaj is renown throughout North America as a dynamic speaker and tireless supporter of Islamic causes. He was also the first Muslim to pray before a session of the United States Congress. Other activities of this event include Qur’anic Recitation, Islamic Nasheeds, spoken word and more.
