Two Guttman Students Are 2016 Phi Theta Kappa Award Recipients

Guttman students Luz Cepeda, a Human Services major, and Christina Wirsing, a Liberal Arts and Sciences major, were among 14 CUNY students to receive the 2016 Phi Theta Kappa All-New York Academic Awards at the New York State Museum in Albany on March 8. Both students also received certificates of recognition from their respective New York State Senators: Gustavo Rivera, Democrat, 33rd Senate District, (Luz Cepeda) and Jeffrey D. Klein, Democrat, 34th Senate District (Christina Wirsing).

Phi Theta Kappa is the largest honor society in higher education, serving nearly 1,300 colleges in all 50 states and nine sovereign nations. Members of the All-New York Academic Team are recognized for the academic achievements, leadership accomplishments, and engagement in community service.
