NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises Appoints Ray Warren as President of Telemundo Deportes

Ray Warren, a member of the York College Class of 1976, was one of approximately four students who founded the York College Radio Station (WYCR) in 1974.

He served not only as an on-air personality at the station, but as the business manager as well; and credits that experience as the foundation of his successful career as a media executive.

Now known as YCRadio.org, the online station, which has its physical location in Room 1G06-G of the Academic Core Building, received a generous donation toward the renovations from Warren. In 2013 he attended the ribbon-cutting for the space with two of his co-founders, Mike Jacobs and Steve Leszczynski.

In 2014, Warren who is a member of the York College’s Foundation Board, as well as Jacobs, Leszczynski and Jeff Conecoff, another co-founder, established the WYCR Alumni Excellence in Broadcast Journalism Award. Faculty in York’s Journalism program also use the facility for Broadcast Bournalism training.
