Professor Rubén Rumbaut
Rumbaut is a Distinguished Professor at the University of California-Irvine and a renowned immigration expert. Among numerous publications, he is the coauthor (with Alejandro Portes) of Immigrant America: A Portrait, and Legacies: The Story of the Immigrant Second Generation, which won the American Sociological Association’s top award for Distinguished Scholarship, and the Thomas and Znaniecki Award for best book in the immigration field.
He is also a fellow of the National Academy of Education and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.
