The English Department at City Tech announces their 36th Annual Literary Arts Festival featuring poet and essayist Rowan Ricardo Phillips. Mr. Phillips has published two books of poetry, Heaven and The Ground, in addition to a book of literary criticism, When Blackness Rhymes with Blackness. Phillips’ many awards include the Whiting Award, the Guggenheim Award, and the Anisfield-Wolf Book Award, which recognizes contributions to understanding racism and cultural diversity. Phillips also writes on sports for the Paris Review.
The Festival will also include performances by City Tech students and readings by award winners of the Literary Arts Festival Writing Contest.
