Dr. Andree-Nicola McLaughlin, Chairperson of Medgar Evers College’s Department of Interdisciplinary Studies, recently attended this year’s Democratic National Convention, which marked the first Presidential nomination of an African-American, Illinois Senator Barack Obama.
Sharing her experience in Denver during the Democratic National Convention, Dr. Andree-Nicola McLaughlin recently appeared on “Ancestor House,” a Manhattan cable television show hosted by Nanaa Camille Yarbrough, with Nayaba Arinde, editor of The New York Amsterdam News. As Founding Coordinator of the International Cross-Cultural Black Women’s Studies Institute, a 21 year old global network, Dr. McLaughlin, who is also a peace and social justice activist, says her on-site support for Obama’s peace initiative was an expression of the will of “women of the world.” View pictures here.
