Author asha bandele and Poet E. Ethelbert Miller to Hold a Free Reading and Discussion at Medgar Evers College, November 20

The Center for Black Literature, the Center for Women’s Development, and the Male Development and Empowerment Center at Medgar Evers College, CUNY invite all to hear the works of E. Ethelbert Miller, author of The Fifth Inning and asha bandele, author of Something Like Beautiful on Friday, November 20, 2009. (Dr. Brenda Greene, Executive Director of the College’s Center for Black Literature has reviewed both of these books in the latest issue of Neworld Review here). A reading and discussion will take place from 6 pm to 8 pm in the President’s Conference Center, Room 1008 at the Bedford Building (1650 Bedford Avenue between Carroll Street and Crown Street).

This event is FREE and open to the public, and event book sales will be provided by the Hue-Man Bookstore.

About Medgar Evers College, CUNY

Medgar Evers College was founded in 1969 through the efforts from educators and community leaders in central Brooklyn. The College is named after Medgar Wiley Evers, a Mississippi-born black civil rights activist who was assassinated on June 12, 1963. The College is divided into four schools: The School of Business; The School of Professional and Community Development; The School of Liberal Arts and Education; and The School of Science, Health, and Technology. Through these Schools, the College offers 29 associate and baccalaureate degree programs, as well as certificate programs in fields such as English, Nursing, and Accounting.
