The 2015 National Black Writers Symposium will provide attendees and participants with an intergenerational perspective on the legacy of resistance and activism in the arts. The featured speaker was Dr. Neil deGrasse Tyson, director of the Hayden Planetarium of the American Museum of Natural History. He offered words of wisdom about choosing a career, the challenges facing scientists of color and how he became an astrophysicist.
