President Pollard has agreed to be the Co-Chair of the NYC Haitian Community Hope and Healing Fund, a fund being established to support New York City’s Haitian community through legal, counseling, and educational services. It is supported by the Brooklyn Community Foundation (BCF). A release will be sent out from BCF later today, but we already have received inquiries from the Brooklyn Courier. Kirk Semple from The New York Times has also requested to interview the President today re: this. Lastly, a press conference for the ‘New York City Haitian Community Hope and Healing Fund’ is scheduled to take place this Thursday, February 11, 2010 at Brooklyn Borough Hall, 209 Joralemon Street, at 11:00am. We have been asked to bring as many Haitian students as possible.
