It is a great pleasure to share good news with all the supporters of the colleges of CUNY. Fiscal year 2010 (July 2009 thru June 2010) was another banner year for the Invest in CUNY Campaign – the colleges received support from more than 35,000 alumni and friends, fund-raising totals remained even or grew at more than three-quarters (80%) of our 23 colleges and institutions.

With the receipt of a new $3 million gift from the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation this fall, the CUNY Graduate School of Journalism has announced the creation of the Tow-Knight Center for Entrepreneurial Journalism and the nation’s first Master of Arts degree in Entrepreneurial Journalism.

BMCC’s Center for Continuing Education and Workforce Development received a $50,000 scholarship grant from Bank of New York Mellon… City College announces Doctoral Fellowship at the Grove School of Engineering… CSI received three new grants totaling $200,000… Hunter College receives $1 million to support the Hunter Dance Program… The Rockefeller Foundation awards $150,000 to the Hostos Community College Center for the Arts & Culture… Philanthropist Mark Pigott donated $100,000 to Lehman College for student scholarships. Queensborough Community College is the recipient of second $1 million dollar gift in the past three years.
