In spring 2010, the CUNY School of Professional Studies (SPS) announced the creation of its Office of Alumni Relations and the establishment of the SPS Alumni Association. The Association held its first alumni reception in June, and launched its website (www.sps.cuny.edu/alumni) and monthly Alumni E-bulletin Connect in early summer.
The 15-member SPS Alumni Relations Council will lead the activities and set the goals of the Alumni Association. The council for 2010-2011 includes alumni from the classes of 2007 through 2010. The Alumni Association will focus on events and opportunities that encourage continuous learning, communication with faculty and peers, networking with industry leaders, and mentoring current SPS students through the SPS Mentor Program.
SPS was formed in 2003 under the direction of Dean John Mogulescu to serve New York’s diverse marketplace by offering innovative programs including CUNY’s first on-line degrees, undergraduate and graduate degree programs, certificate programs, and professional development courses.
