JOB OPENING: ENVIRONMENT REPORTER
The Record (Bergen County, NJ) is looking for a reporter to anchor coverage of a broad range of locally based environmental news. Water and air quality. Global warming and energy use/production. Contaminated sites. Interstate pollution. The quantitative (and qualitative) impact of living green. Development in protected areas. The health effects of chemical exposure. Holes in state oversight. The list goes on. There is no end to the hard-edged issues and stories coming off this beat. We want to continue to be the voice of authority on all manner of environmental issues affecting our North Jersey readers and to give them insight into how their lives are being affected – and how they might be improved.
Some background about our newspaper: The Record has won the “General Excellence Award” as New Jersey’s best large daily newspaper (for circulation more than 60,000) in 11 of the past 16 years, including four of the past five years. Our company is family-owned and has a long tradition of service and editorial excellence in northern New Jersey. The Record is located within 30 minutes of Times Square in Manhattan and is a short drive from the shore and the mountains.
