Associate Professor Rebecca Bratspies’ latest book, Progress in International Law, has just been released by Martinus Nijhoff Publishers. The book, which Professor Bratspies co-edited with Associate Professor Russell Miller of Washington & Lee University Law School, is a comprehensive accounting of international law. Forty leading international law theorists contributed. Professor Bratspies’ teaching and scholarly research focuses on environmental and public international law, with a particular emphasis on how legal systems govern the global commons and how law can further sustainable development. She has published widely on the topics of environmental liability, international fisheries regulation, and genetically modified food crops.
