The Manhattan District Attorney’s Office met on October 17 with the defense team representing some of the 700 people who were arrested on October 1 on the Brooklyn Bridge while taking part in an Occupy Wall Street protest. The defense team (all members of the New York City Chapter of the National Lawyers Guild) includes alum Rebecca Heinegg (’07), of counsel at the Law Office of Elizabeth Fink; Martin Stolar, former president of the New York City Chapter of National Lawyers Guild; and David Rankin and Jane Moisan, both from the Law Office of Rankin & Taylor. The team is asking that many of the charges be dismissed outright.
