Alum Laura Nixon (’10) was named one of seven recipients of the 2012-2013 Reproductive Justice Fellowship. Nixon will spend her fellowship working at the National Center for Lesbian Rights (NCLR).
During law school, Nixon interned at National Advocates for Pregnant Women and at the Brooklyn Family Defense Project. Following graduation from law school, she served as a Fellow in the Office of the General Counsel at CUNY and as a temporary Legislative Fellow at the Center for Reproductive Rights.
The Reproductive Justice Fellowship Program is part of the Law Students for Reproductive Justice (LSRJ) and is open to current 3Ls and recent law school graduates. It is intended to enhance capacity at reproductive justice organizations working to influence law and policy and to build a pipeline for future reproductive justice lawyers.
