Distinguished Professor Ruthann Robson contributed to an online symposium on same-sex marriage on SCOTUSblog. Robson reviewed the “Proposition 8″ case Hollingsworth v. Perry and the consolidated cases related to the Defense of Marriage Act. She said the Court should “attempt to emulate the [Ninth and First] circuit courts’ attempts at analytic rigor. The Court should also attempt to provide future guidance in the form of clearly articulated constitutional standards.”
Distinguished Prof. Robson teaches in the areas of constitutional law, family law, feminist legal theory, and sexuality and the law. She is the author of many articles in such journals as New York Law School Journal of Human Rights, Albany Law Review, Women’s Rights Law Reporter, Hastings Law Journal, Australian Feminist Law Journal, and Yearbook of New Zealand Jurisprudence.
