NY Law Journal on Law School Relief Efforts After Sandy

A story from the New York Law Journal about the impact of Hurricane Sandy on law schools in the region highlights CUNY Law’s efforts to support students who were affected by the storm. Many schools were closed for days due to power outages and/or flood damage and faced challenges of providing for students while continuing to meet the mandates of accrediting agencies for the minimum amount of yearly class time. “Law school is very unforgiving,” said Assistant Dean for Student Affairs Cheryl Howard. “But classes must go on.”

To that end, CUNY Law is helping students who have been affected by the storm find emergency financial assistance and is working with individual students to meet their specific needs.
