Prof. Zeidman on Impact of Federal Ruling on Stop-and-Frisk

January 11, 2013

Professor Steven Zeidman discussed with the impact of a federal judge’s recent ruling regarding stop-and-frisk. The ruling stated that the New York Police Department violated the Constitution as they engaged in a “stop-and-frisk” policy.  “When a Federal District Court judge says your program is unconstitutional, that is as direct, clear and far-reaching a statement as a judge can make,” said Zeidman. The NYPD “can’t continue it as it is,” Zeidman added. “They have to make changes.”
