2013 IWHR Summer Internship Placements Announced

April 11, 2013

The International Women’s Human Rights (IWHR) Clinic is pleased to announce the recipients of the 2013 IWHR Summer Internship Placements. Three rising 3Ls committed to gender justice, international law, and human rights will spend their summers interning with IWHR Clinic partner organizations in New York and abroad.

  • Sheyda Joolharzadeh will intern with the Center for Reproductive Rights in their office in Kathmandu, Nepal.
  • Meghan McLoughlin will be interning with the Legal Aid Society’s Trafficking Victim Legal Defense and Advocacy Project in New York City.
  • Charles Roberts will be spending the summer in Geneva, Switzerland, splitting his internship between Geneva for Human Rights and a member of the United Nations Human Rights Committee.

The IWHR Summer Internship Placement and Grant Program places students in internships with organizations working on human rights domestically or internationally to enable students to gain substantive human rights work experience.

The IWHR Clinic trains students who plan to work as human rights lawyers, either internationally or as a component of their social justice work in the United States. The Clinic represents and collaborates with survivors of violations and activists, contributing legal and gender expertise to address the needs of women in various contexts.
