CUNY Law Hosts Panel Discussion on 40th Anniversary of Roe v. Wade

On April 2, 2013, the CUNY Law Democrats, the CUNY Law Students for Reproductive Justice, and the CUNY Federalist Society hosted a panel discussion on the 40th anniversary of Roe v. Wade. The discussion was moderated by CUNY Law Dean Michelle J. Anderson and featured New York State Assemblywoman Nily Rozic, Professor Caitlin Borgmann, and Amanda Allen (’08), policy manager at NARAL Pro-Choice New York. The participants discussed North Dakota’s recent abortion law and Arkansas’s 12-week abortion ban that will going into effect soon. They also surveyed the landscape of reproductive rights in New York, including the Reproductive Health Act. They also discussed recent bills that are supportive of abortion rights, including bills in Washington state, California, and Texas.
