Harvey Epstein (’94) in Daily News on How NYC Housing Authority Outside Lawyer Program “Outguns the Poor Needing Fixes”

The NY Daily News’ exclusive report on how the New York City Housing Authority spends $8 million a year on outside lawyers to oppose tenants seeking repairs in housing court, more than it spends on bricklayers or exterminators, quoted CUNY Law graduate Harvey Epstein (’94), the head of the Community Development Project at The Urban Justice Center.  “In 99%  of the cases, tenants are not represented by lawyers,” Epstein is quoted.  “NYCHA is always represented by their lawyers and they push back.”
