Lehman Faculty recognized

Lehman College Provost Mary Papazian honored librarians Kachuen Gee and Robert Farrell at the college’s annual Faculty Recognition Luncheon on May 14. Professor Gee and Mr. Farrell were recognized, together with fourteen other Lehman faculty members, for excellence in research, teaching and service. Professor Gee shared the honor for research excellence with Professor Sheau-Yueh (Janey) Chao of Baruch College, who collaborated with her on the research project.

Baruch Librarians Awarded Research Grants

Three librarians at the Newman Library of Baruch College were awarded PSC-CUNY grants: Michael Waldman, head of collection management, for his research on gender and the library catalog; Lisa Ellis, information services librarian, for her paper, “Is it Good Enough? The Evaluation of Results in Federated Searching”; and Saad Abulhab, director of technology, was recognized for his work in Arabic typography, which has received multiple patents and national news coverage.
