In September 2009, the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA) welcomed Curtis Kendrick, university librarian and head of the Office of Library Services, as its newest member. The International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions is the leading international body representing the interests of library and information services and their users. It is the global voice of the library and information profession. The City University of New York has marked its interests in the objectives of the organization by joining its world-wide organization as an institutional member.
Founded in 1927 in Scotland, IFLA has1600 members in approximately 150 countries around the world.
