On Sept. 19 the City University of New York’s 16 student government leaders attended the Presidential Conference, hosted for the first time by Baruch College. At this meeting, presidents from different campuses exchanged ideas, shared resources and socialized. A representative from the University Student Senate, the governing body composed of all CUNY colleges, was present as well. The most popular topic of conversation was finances, in particular the increase in technology fees.
This event was sponsored by the CUNY Leadership Academy and all of the various student governments were invited to participate. Dr. Joe-Joe McManus, the executive director of the academy, said, “There was a lot of interest among student government presidents to get together with peers to discuss challenges and collaborate on CUNY issues.”
