Liliete Lopez was born in Nicaragua on January 16, 1977. She lived in that country for the first thirteen years of her life and then moved to the United States. In her country of origin, Liliete was not allowed to attend school, because she had a disability.

The Board of Trustees of The City University of New York today approved the appointment of Peter G. Jordan as Interim Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs, as recommended by Chancellor Matthew Goldstein. Dr. Jordan has been Vice President of Enrollment Management and Student Development at LaGuardia Community College since 2004. He succeeds Dr. Garrie W. Moore, who is retiring effective September 30, 2009. A national search to fill the position is underway and a Search Committee is being chaired by York College President Marcia V. Keizs.
