
The Board of Trustees of The City University of New York today approved the appointment of Peter G. Jordan as Interim Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs, as recommended by Chancellor Matthew Goldstein. Dr. Jordan has been Vice President of Enrollment Management and Student Development at LaGuardia Community College since 2004. He succeeds Dr. Garrie W. Moore, who is retiring effective September 30, 2009. A national search to fill the position is underway and a Search Committee is being chaired by York College President Marcia V. Keizs.

You might not think that a lot of hootin’ and hollerin’ fits in at an educational conference. But the CUNY New Leadership Challenge Conference held recently at Brooklyn College was no ordinary educational conference. It was more like a pep rally rolled up in a political convention, complete with balloons, cheers, T-shirts, and even a mascot or two.
