June 6, 2013 | Student Event

IMG_1441On May 30 the College held its first Studio Showcase to feature the work from the inaugural class and to celebrate student academic achievement. Part of the City Seminar course, Studio is a creative learning environment designed for students to practice, reflect and develop the skills essential to engaging in the craft of successful academic study. Working alongside Graduate Coordinators and Peer Mentors, students created various projects to showcase the new techniques and skills they learned in Studio.

studio 5-30-13The Portfolio includes in-progress and final drafts of integrated City Seminar assignments, as well as Studio exercises students complete throughout the semester. The exercises are developed by the Studio teams and feature clear and specific objectives derived from the City Seminar learning outcomes and skills spines. The exercises give students opportunities to practice core academic skills. Students create a virtual learning community through the ePortfolio by sharing work-in-progress and commenting and reflecting on one other’s work.
