As Guttman Community College entered its “first second year” of the college, the Office of Academic Affairs (OAA) has welcomed a group of stellar and enthusiastic new faculty and staff this fall.
Joining OAA’s Student Engagement team this semester are two wonderful additions: Student Success Advocate Alicia Brizzi and Career Strategist Lauren DiMartino. Alicia comes with years of experience with CUNY Start and will be joining Ramón De Los Santos, Eddy Duré and Randy Moore to round out the Student Success Advocates (SSA) team. Lauren will be joining Jovanny Suriel as a Career Strategist and will focus on advising and supporting students in the Business Administration and IT majors. The Office of Partnerships and Community Engagement has also brought on Rocio Rosado. Formerly with TCI College of Technology and Baruch College, Ms. Rosado will be serving as a Career Advisor. Finally, Amalia Orman, a graduate student at NYU, will be providing advisement and support for students who are retaking courses in their second year.
Recently, the OAA has also welcomed two new additions the staff: Dr. Reuben Castagno and Kate Manafeeva. As Acting Dean for Academic Affairs, Reuben Castagno will be overseeing a number of areas, including IRB and faculty research grants, the CUNY-wide Coordinated Undergraduate Education (CUE) initiative, course scheduling, and articulation agreements with institutions in- and outside of CUNY. Assisting him is Kate Manafeeva, who brings previous higher education administrative experience.
