On Tuesday, November 19, Professor Naveen Seth organized a special business plan session for Guttman Business students and others interested in this area. A group of Gateway College students from Norway presented business plans for their new start-up ventures, including healthy low-carb waffles and t-shirts with innovative designs. These Norwegian students are currently in New York to complete a course in entrepreneurship led by Carrie McIndoe, the founder of Economic Ventures, Inc. Ms. McIndoe is also an entrepreneurship educator and an instructor for Goldman Sachs’ 10,000 Small Businesses at LaGuardia Community College.
Second-year students Davon Agnew, Colin Ahenkorah, Alfajo Jallow, Jessica Leung, Reina Osorio, Adesh Ramcharitar and Shirlene Pierre learned firsthand how their Gateway counterparts took an idea and translated it into a viable business plan. They also had an opportunity to ask the Gateway College students about how they planned to market their products Guttman students also spoke of their own academic and career interests and discussed the projects for which they had prepared business plans during their Introduction to Business course last summer.
