The Hellenic American Bankers Association Donates to Office of Partnerships & Community Engagement

On December 5, 2013, the Hellenic American Bankers Association (HABA) in collaboration with the Office of Partnerships & Community Engagement (OPCE), hosted a networking event and panel discussion titled Show Me the Money: Film Production featuring Sophia Antonini and Stavroula Toska from Orama Pictures and Entertainment Attorney and  Independent Film Producer George Stephanopoulos.

Vice President for Academic Affairs & Provost, José Luis Morín, welcomed the guest speakers and shared key concepts about Guttman Community College—a college dedicated to high-impact, student-centered practices.  Morin also highlighted the unique role of the Office of Partnerships & Community Engagement in identifying community partners to provide opportunities designed to support an enriched curriculum and career preparation.

Mr. Costas Kellas, President of HABA, presented a $750 donation to Provost Morín intended to support OPCE and their student related activities including, student networking events, student internships — including emergency transportation assistance  —  the PREP for Success Closet maintenance and upcoming competitive internship recognition awards.The Hellenic American Bankers Association, Inc. (HABA) is one of the premier Greek-American organizations in the New York metropolitan area. HABA is a not-for-profit organization established in 1982 to promote the professional and educational interest of Greek-Americans, Cypriots and Pan-Hellens in the banking and finance industries.
