On Tuesday, February 11, thirteen Guttman students traveled to Pier 59 Studios to participate in the Fashion Palette New York Fashion Show during Fashion Week. Dressed in all black, students volunteered as dressers for professional models, backstage traffic control monitors and ushers during the show. Students witnessed and participated in a fast-paced, cutting-edge fashion event and gained valuable hands-on experience in the industry. “It was a great learning experience as many of the attending students are interested in careers in event planning, fashion, media, public relations or marketing”, noted Tiffany Bailey, Academic Internship Specialist at Guttman.
Inaugural student and business administration major Binqing Stephanie Lin has previously worked with the organization and was able to connect the Office of Partnerships & Community Engagement with Fashion Palette to provide Guttman students this rewarding experience. Sonya Mefaddi, Founder and Creative Director of Fashion Palette, was very impressed by our students, stating “…they were amazing and [I]would love to have you all back in September for our Spring/ Summer show!”
