On Tuesday, February 26, Guttman second-year students Richard Davila, Kristine Anne Perez and Adesh Ramcharitar got an insider’s view of the mobile technology field by shadowing Kris Acharya, Director, Mobile Engagement Lead, and other members of the Mobile team at Pfizer Inc., Mobile Center of Excellence, Business Technology. The Guttman students were the first to participate in a pilot program with Pfizer Inc. arranged through Guttman’s Office of Partnerships & Community Engagement in collaboration with their Career Strategist.
The information technology and business administration students learned firsthand about Pfizer Inc. and the work of its Mobile team. The Guttman students had an opportunity to observe and participate in meetings with Pfizer’s Mobile and Asset management teams. They also spoke to Pfizer’s world-class Mobile Application Developers and shared their project ideas.
“This was a great learning experience for Guttman students to observe professionals in their daily work setting and identify the skills, knowledge, and abilities they will need to be successful in the field,” noted Rochel Pinder-Cuffie, Director of Partnerships & Community Engagement. Richard Davila, inaugural student and Information Technology major, was thrilled by the experience, noting “We learned a lot about the business world and the amount of experience [the mobile team] have gathered throughout the years to get to the positions that they are in today. And on top of it all we had fun!” The Guttman students also discussed their own career interests.
