Six years after the 9/11 terrorist attacks a majority of New Yorkers said they felt safer in a recent poll. Prof. Joseph King interprets the poll’s findings and discusses the pros and cons of the Lower Manhattan Security Initiative. The plan, among the most ambitious security efforts ever undertaken, will be capable of providing live feeds and search for suspicious activity through a network of closed-circuit cameras in the Financial District.
