MFA in Creative Writing Now in Queens

Aspiring writers in Queens no longer have to leave the borough in order to follow their bliss. This fall, Queens College welcomed the inaugural class of its new MFA in Creative Writing-the first program of its kind in Queens. Graduate students will combine intense writing workshops and literary theory classes taught by professional authors and poets, including Distinguished Professor Kimiko Hahn. Program director and award-winning poet, Nicole Cooley, discusses the curriculum, which includes a track in literary translation, one of a handful offered at colleges and universities from around the country.
