Critically acclaimed poet Frank Bidart reads from his latest collection, “Watching the Spring Festival,” his first volume of lyric poetry, as part of Hunter College’s Distinguished Writers Series. “No living poet writes with Bidart’s fusion of emotional ferocity and formal exactitude,” wrote the Boston Globe in its review of his 2005 bestselling book “Star Dust.” Prof. Bidart has taught English at Wellesley College since 1972 and has received numerous awards including the Wallace Stevens Award and most recently, Yale University’s 2007 Bollingen Prize for American Poetry.
