The 2012 CUNY Summer Undergraduate Research Program (C-SURP) has begun! 18 talented undergraduates will spend the next ten weeks working closely with CUNY faculty mentors and gaining hands-on experience in empirical research. Participants and mentors come from a range of scientific disciplines, including neurobiology, chemical engineering and photonics. Beyond developing fundamental research skills and techniques in the labs, students will also attend weekly seminars and activities designed to prepare them for graduate school and expose them to the wide variety of research careers available to them. On Thursday, August 9th, the participants will present their research at the third annual C-SURP poster session at Macaulay Honors College.
