CUNY is forming a university-wide School of Public Health to be sited at Hunter College . It will be a collaborative School of Public Health primarily involving Brooklyn College, the CUNY Graduate Center, Hunter College, and Lehman College, but other CUNY colleges will be involved as well.
CUNY’s School of Public Health will be the only School of Public Health in the United States to focus on urban public health, an increasingly important subject because the world’s population is increasingly urban (predicted to be over 75% by 2030). CUNY’s School of Public Health will offer community-based public health doctoral and master’s degrees in the areas of Biostatistics; Epidemiology; Health Policy and Management; Urban Occupational and Environmental Health; and Community, Society, and Health (including specialties in Nutrition). Undergraduate public health degrees may also be included in the new School.
