The Association between Marital Transitions, Body Mass Index, and Weight: A Review of the Literature

Drs. May May Leung and Ming-Chin Yeh publish: The Association between Marital Transitions, Body Mass Index, and Weight: A Review of the Literature in the Journal of Obesity. The review paper concludes that transitions into marriage were associated with weight gain, while transitions out of marriage were associated with weight loss. It also highlights potential opportunities to incorporate programs, practices, and policies to promote healthy weights during these transition periods. Lauren Dinour(a student in our DPH program), Gina Tripicchio and Sahar Khan (two recent graduates of our MS-Nutrition program). Dr. Leung is an assistant professor and Dr. Yeh is an associate professor, at the CUNY School of Public Health at Hunter College.
