The NYC Department of Environmental Protection has announced a $6million fund for its Green Infrastructure Grant Program for 2013, inviting proposals which help capture, divert or reuse storm-water in a bid to minimize runoff into the city sewage system. The DEP will be hosting a series of information meetings across the city during the fall to guide interested parties through the application process. In its third year, the grant program has awarded a total of $7.5 million dollars to various projects since 2011, including $386,000 to Queens College for three constructed rain gardens and  $245,000 for a community garden project in Brooklyn in which City College was a partner.  More Information
