Sustainable CUNY Conserves University-wide effort to reduce energy consumption across CUNY’s campuses has been given further impetus by the Governor’s Executive Order 88, NYBuild Smart, which mandates CUNY to achieve a 22% reduction in energy use by 2020. Four Working Groups comprised of 64 Campus leaders, engineers and facility managers have been formed to create an implementation plan that addresses the key areas impacting CUNY’s energy efficiency and facility operations programs. The four working groups are: 1) Data Analytics, Audits and Compliance; 2) Energy Management and Operations and Maintenance: 3) Archibus, BMS and R25 (scheduling); and 4) Training & Communications. The groups, facilitated by Sustainable CUNY Conserves, kicked off in April and are expected to provide a steering committee with detailed recommendations by the summer of 2014.
