Dear Colleagues,

It is with great pleasure that we invite you to the first Homeless Veteran Summit here at the James J. Peters VA Medical Center.  The summit is in collaboration with the NY Harbor Health Care System and will take place on February 2, 2011 from 9:00am – 12 Noon in Room 3D-22.

The purpose of this summit is to serve as a vehicle to synchronize our five-year plans in order to end homelessness with local efforts to address this issue. To reach our goals, we will coordinate the VISN and VAMC plans with VA and non-VA partners such as the United States Interagency Council on Homelessness; the Department of Housing and Urban Development; the Department of Labor; Department of Defense; Reserve and National Guard; State VA Departments and other key Federal, state and local organizations.

We are also inviting you, as a stakeholder and partner in the charge to end homelessness among Veterans, to participate in this summit.

Please RSVP by calling our Bronx Homeless Champion, LaTonya Heyward at 718-584-9000 x5154, LaTonya.Heyward@va.gov or our NY Harbor Homeless Champion, Karen Fuller at 718-439-4337, Karen.Fuller@va.gov.
