Jericho Project, a nonprofit supportive and
affordable housing developer, is pleased to
announce the opening of its new Veterans
Residence I in Spring 2011.
Veterans Residence I is located at 355 East 194th
Street in the Fordham-Bedford neighborhood of the
Bronx. The Residence is four blocks from the B/D train
at Kingsbridge Road and is also convenient to a num-
ber of bus lines. Studio apartments will be available to
qualified veterans.
Features of the Residence include:
Fully furnished studios with bed, dresser, nightstand, table, and chairs

Bamboo floors and Corian kitchen countertops in apartments
•
LEED-certified for energy efficient design and air quality
•
On-site Computer Lab
•
Free wireless access in every room
•
On-site assistance with education and employment
•
Community Room and garden
•
Section 8 rental subsidies available; tenants pay 30% of income towards rent
•
Eligibility criteria include:
Must be a U.S. military veteran with a valid DD-214 (preference will be given to OEF/OIF veterans)
•
Must have a documented source of income
•
Total annual income must not exceed $27,750 (50% of Area Median Income)
•
Residency is only available to the veteran – no other members of a household can be included
•
Must be willing to live in a community of veterans
