SOLL–Clifford E. The Hunter College community is saddened by the loss of our longtime colleague, Clifford E. Soll, who died at his home in Yonkers, NY, on April 7, 2014. Since 1999, Cliff was the director of the Mass Spectrometry Facility at Hunter College, where he provided services not only to the members of Hunter College but also to all City University of New York (CUNY) campuses, Weill Cornell Medical School and Rockefeller University. Outgoing, energetic and devoted to Hunter, Cliff regularly went well beyond his job duties to provide help in various ways, from repairing air compressors to closing software licensing deals. Outside of work, his wide-ranging interests included cooking and being a crew member of Sal DiPaolo Racing, a drag racing team based in Yonkers. In addition, Cliff, who held a Ph. D. in organic chemistry, enjoyed talking to people from children to adults about science, which he loved. He is survived by his mother Edith Soll. Our heartfelt condolences go out to her.
