The sole daughter of Soviet poet Vladimir Mayakovsky, US philosopher and author Patricia Thomson died in New York last Friday, the director of the V.V. Mayakovsky State Museum in Moscow, Aleksey Lobov, has confirmed to TASS.

“I had a message from her son Roger earlier today. He says Patricia died in New York on Friday morning. In June she would’ve turned 90. We were going to celebrate the anniversary. Two weeks ago I visited her. We discussed some plans. Regrettably, it has happened otherwise. It’s all very sad,” Lobov said.

Patricia Thompson is an author of more than 20 books, including Mayakovsky in Manhattan. She was a professor of philosophy at the Lehman College of the University of New York City, a specialist in philosophy, sociology and family economics.

Her mother Elizabeth Siebert, met Mayakovsky in the United States in 1925.
