Towers of Light
A heart that is broken is also open. There
is no “closure” when life is undone. They were innocent who
fell to ashes, The sky their witness, their home, the sun.
A spirit broken is also open. Empty and vast as the sky’s
domain They fought to the death to save the dying May heaven
forgive their rage and pain. A city broken is also open No
fortress of plenty, no shelter from dread. We love it best
who love one another, Who walk with the fallen and weep with
the dead.
