The School of Public Affairs offers two programs for accomplished
educators who wish to make the transition to school administrator
-- the School Administrator and Supervisor (SAS) New York State
certificate program, and the MSEd in Education Administration and Supervision.
The SAS certificate program is a 24-credit post-masters program.
Students interested in continuing on for the MSEd take an additional
three classes. All classes are taught in the evening. The SAS program
takes four sequenced semesters to complete.
Students go through the program in cohorts, to ensure the support
that all educational leaders need. Through the integration of theory
and practice, courses cover material essential for effective performance
in a constantly changing environment. Graduates describe the program
as intense, but a very realistic preparation for the careers they
seek.
A very active Office of Career Services & Alumni Affairs assists
students in finding internships (when required), offers workshops,
job fairs and social events to increase student’s awareness
of options and assist with networking and job searches.
