The MSEd in Higher Education Administration program prepares professionals
for administrative leadership and supervisory positions in the administration
of colleges and universities. The flexible curriculum emphasizes
higher education management, personnel management, and information
systems.
The 30-33 credit program, generally pursued on a part-time basis,
was designed with the working professional in mind; all classes
are offered in the evening. Part-time students generally take two
and a half years to complete the program. Full-time students can
finish the program in an average of a year and a half.
The majority of students in the program already hold positions in
higher education and wish to increase their knowledge base and advance
their careers, although some students enroll immediately upon completing
their undergraduate degree. Many students enroll seeking a career
change from such diverse fields as real estate, banking and teaching.
A very active Office of Career Services & Alumni Affairs assists
students in finding internships (when required), offers workshops,
job fairs and social events to increase student’s awareness
of option and assist with networking.
