Commissioner Levin and Chancellor Goldstein
A reception followed in nearby LaGuardia Community College, at which the college president, Gail O. Mellow, expressed pleasure at having MOMA as a neighbor.

Kate Levin, who is on leave from her professorial duties at City College while serving as New York City's Commissioner of Cultural Affairs, also spoke at the reception on the importance of culture to the city. She had been an assistant professor of English at City College since 1997 and associate director of its Simon H. Rifkind Center for the Humanities before accepting her current appointment from Mayor Michael Bloomberg.

The president of several CUNY colleges attended the viewing and reception, as well as alumni and members of the Chancellor's Business Leadership Council.
